Changelog

What we've shipped

New features, improvements, and fixes for making Shopify stores readable to AI shopping agents. Newest first.

  1. Improved

We now recommend a plan based on your own scan

After a scan you used to get a generic signup link and a pricing page to work through yourself. You now get one recommended plan, chosen from what the scan actually found, with the reason and the full terms shown before you start the trial.

  2. Improved

Your scan lands on the full report, not a score screen

Finishing a scan used to show a single score and a button, and the report was one click further on. The score now sits at the top of the report itself, so the grade, the checks and what AI can read about you all arrive together.

  3. Fixed

The next step stays on screen while you read your results

On phones the continue button could sit below the fold once the checks were open, so there was nothing to tap after reading a finding. It now stays pinned to the bottom of the screen.

  4. Fixed

Long scan findings no longer push the button off screen

On smaller screens a long finding could grow the results card until the continue button was below the fold. Findings are now bounded so the next step is always visible.

  5. Improved

Removed the business type question during the scan

The scan asked what kind of business you run while it was already running, and it usually finished before you could answer. It is gone. We work it out from your site instead.

  6. Improved

Scan results go straight to the full breakdown

After a scan, the button said Save your results and led to an email form before you could see anything. It now says See the full breakdown and takes you there. You can still email yourself the report from the results.

  7. Improved

Scan results now show the checks straight away

The list of what we checked on your site was hidden behind a Show checks link. It is open by default now, so you can see what was found without an extra click.

  8. Fixed

Corrected a claim about publishing costs

Our pricing pages said we show the credit cost before you publish an extra page. That display does not exist yet, so the line has been removed until it does. Extra pages do draw from your credit balance, and credits still never expire.

  9. Fixed

Annual pricing now shows the monthly equivalent

Switching to annual showed the full year total next to monthly prices, so the annual option looked far more expensive at a glance instead of cheaper. It now shows the monthly equivalent with the full annual charge and the saving stated underneath.

  10. Improved

Log in from anywhere on the site

The site header had no sign-in link, so returning customers had to remember the app address. There is now a Log in control in the header on every page, marked with Ari so it is easy to spot.

Starter is available for any website, not just Shopify

Starter at $29 is a scaled-down version of the same AI Answers plan: it checks once a cycle instead of every three days. There was never a technical reason it was Shopify-only, so it is now on both. Shopify stores still get the catalog and schema work layered on top, and keep the 14-day trial on every paid plan; off Shopify the free trial is on Pro, so Starter there is billed from day one and the page says so.

  12. Improved

One pricing table, with a Shopify toggle

Pricing was split into two product ladders that repeated the same $79 and $349 rungs and hid the $29 entry inside the Shopify product, so answer monitoring looked like it started at $79. There is now one ladder with a platform toggle. Starter stays visible on the any-website view marked "Shopify stores only", so the entry price is never a mystery. We also removed a claim that AI was unmetered on higher plans, corrected cadence copy that said weekly next to every 3 days, and replaced the $2.50-per-extra-post price with the credit balance that actually bills it.

AI Answers now explains the whole topic-project journey

Related customer questions now lead into one durable project story: understand the retained answers, plan the right site destination, prepare and approve the work, record what is verifiably live, and compare later evidence. The public guide also states the sparse-data, approval, development-store, and no-ranking-guarantee boundaries.

A bigger free tier and simpler plans

AgentReady now installs free: the Free tier carries the AI-readiness checker (score, gap report, crawlability), a one-time AI-shopping rank snapshot, and up to 500 products. Starter at $29/mo carries every software feature including the full Catalog suite, with 15,000 AI operations and 1,000 Pro AI credits a month plus 4 content-channel posts per cycle. Pro at $79/mo adds a personal onboarding call, priority support, a quarterly review, 8 posts, and unmetered standard AI. Studio is unchanged. Extra posts are $2.50 each up to a cap you set, and annual saves 20%.

The Sidekick integration gets its own hub, and a 17th tool

Every AgentReady tool inside Shopify Sidekick is now documented by name on one page, including the new plan-a-post action: say the topic and Sidekick opens the content queue seeded with it, and nothing publishes until you confirm the plan in the content queue. The 16 data tools stay read-only.

The AgentReady landing page is back on this site

caffeinecommerce.com/agentready is live again as the product's full landing page: the readiness radar, the dashboard walkthrough, catalog and Sidekick coverage, plans, and FAQ, one link from the homepage and footer.

Buy-box price watch: see the undercut while it's new

Every tracked catalog query now records your offer against the cheapest competitor's price daily, giving you a price history for the buy box you're fighting for. When a competitor starts undercutting you, the alert cites the recorded streak, evidence, never a guess. Offers also show an agent-checkout-eligible badge where the catalog reports it.

Are you in the Shopify Catalog? An honest answer

A new eligibility auditor recomputes Shopify's documented inclusion requirements from your real store data, store-level and product-level, and pairs them with a live probe of the actual catalog. 'Found in the catalog' comes only from probe evidence; requirements no app can check say 'cannot verify' instead of guessing.

Category fixes now resolve to real Shopify taxonomy entries

When AgentReady suggests a product category, it now resolves the suggestion to a real entry in Shopify's Standard Product Taxonomy before anything is written, with a confidence gate that refuses to guess. You confirm the match (or pick from alternates), it applies in one click, and undo is one click too.

Ask Shopify Sidekick, get AgentReady answers

16 read-only AgentReady tools are live inside Shopify Sidekick. Ask the assistant in your admin about your readiness score, catalog rank, undercuts, SEO hygiene, content opportunities, agent traffic, or your content schedule, and it answers from your store's own AgentReady data. Read-only by design: Sidekick can look, never touch.

See your catalog fixes get absorbed — and the lift

Fix a product's data and verify it in Shopify's Global Catalog, and AgentReady now tracks how the catalog reads it over time: which products got absorbed, your absorption rate, and a per-product before-and-after legibility curve. The proof behind your AI shopping rank, and the before/after record a scraper-based tool can't show you.

    Customize your agents.md — free

Shopify gives every store a generic agents.md, the file AI shopping agents read to understand and transact with you. AgentReady now generates a brand-specific one from your live catalog, best-sellers, reviews and policies, scores it so you can see what's covered, and flags you when it drifts. Paste it into your theme once; it's plain Markdown you own. Free on every plan.

Partners managing many client shops get one pane for readiness, agentic rank, and outstanding remediation across every store they've referred, worst-first. Run audits across the fleet in one click, and queue remediation drafts your team reviews before anything goes live.

See how Shopify's Global Catalog reads your store

A new per-product comparison shows where Shopify's Global Catalog disagrees with your Admin: guessing the wrong category, carrying a stale price, or not picking your product up at all. The specific reasons you don't show up in AI shopping.

Fix your product data for AI in one click

When the comparison flags a gap, AgentReady drafts the fix — a clearer title, the right category, a fuller description — and you review and apply it to Shopify in one click, with one-click undo. Clean product data is what wins AI shoppers.

Find the AI searches you're missing

See the category searches where shoppers find your competitors but not you, ranked by missed market, each with a recommended move: a collection to add, a description to write. The inverse of where you rank, showing where you should.

See where you rank in AI shopping

Run a free check to see where your products surface when shoppers ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Shop — your rank, the other sellers on the same product, and who's undercutting you. On Pro, track the searches that matter and watch your rank move over time.

  28. New

    Catalog readiness score

A new score on your checklist shows how your products will fare inside Shopify's Global Catalog — product taxonomy, category-vs-brand naming, variant clarity, and the data quality Shopify's AI reads — with the specific fixes that move it.

    Multi-market readiness

AgentReady now detects when you sell in more than one market and shows exactly what AI agents read on each of your market URLs. On the Pro and Agent plans it also publishes each market's real prices, currency, and translations, which turns on with a one-time Shopify permission.

  30. New

Pro AI for product images and content

A vision model now writes alt text by actually looking at each photo (colours, materials, on-model vs flat-lay) alongside Pro product descriptions and FAQ drafts. Every Pro run shows its credit cost before it happens, cached repeats are free, and failed runs refund automatically. Available on every plan, including free.

    Subscriptions, readable by AI agents

Subscribe-and-save offers from Stay AI, Recharge, Skio, Loop, Appstle and every native-API subscription app now publish into your product structured data, llms.txt, and MCP endpoint, so when a shopper asks an assistant 'where can I get this monthly', your store has an answer on the record.

Store locator & trust strip blocks

Two new theme blocks for Pro plans: a Find-us store locator with a live open-now line per location, and a trust strip whose shipping and returns claims come from your real policies and delivery profiles. The trust badge that can't lie. Both inherit your theme and render nothing when there's no data.

    HowTo & Recipe blocks

Your guides and recipes now render as clean visible blocks from the same fields as their structured data. Author once, show shoppers the steps and tell search engines and AI agents the same thing. Joins the FAQ accordion and location blocks in the storefront block set.

    Agentic-commerce glossary

A plain-English reference for the terms behind AI shopping: agentic commerce, llms.txt, JSON-LD, GEO, MCP, and more. Each term is marked up as a Schema.org DefinedTerm so AI answers can cite the definitions directly.

The complete guide to Shopify agentic commerce

A pillar guide covering how AI agents discover, read, and recommend Shopify products, and the exact schema and feed work that gets your store cited instead of skipped.

  37. Improved

AI Concierge now reads your storefront

During discovery, the Concierge fetches your live storefront the way a bot would and pulls return-policy and shipping URLs plus social profiles straight from your footer, so it stops missing links that were obviously on the page.

  38. Improved

LocalBusiness schema on every plan, including Free

Physical-store schema (hours, geo, price range, and the right subtype such as Restaurant or Store) is no longer gated behind a paid tier. Every store that benefits from it gets it.

  39. Improved

    Cleaner help-center URLs

Help articles moved from query-string URLs to clean paths like /portal/getting-started. Each article is now its own canonical page, which search engines and AI crawlers index far more reliably.

  40. Improved

    Faster indexing with IndexNow

When new content publishes, we now notify IndexNow so Bing and partner engines recrawl within minutes instead of days. ChatGPT and Copilot lean on Bing's index, so this also speeds up AI-answer visibility.

  41. Improved

Refreshed design system across both sites

A single fluid type scale, consistent 4px button radius with playful hover motion, and a shared visual language across the marketing site and the app so the whole product reads as one brand.
