AgentReady helps Shopify stores become easier for AI shopping assistants to parse, and pairs with AI Answers when you want standing evidence of what assistants say. On Shopify, start with Schema for AI: confirm facts, generate structured data, enable the theme app extension, then observe the live storefront. This page is the expected flow. It does not claim that configured data is already live or that schema improves rankings by itself.
1. Install the app
Install AgentReady free from the Shopify App Store. There is no credit card and no trial clock on the Free plan. The install adds the app to your Shopify admin and runs a first read of your store so it has something to score. Free includes the score, gap report, crawlability audit, one-time answer snapshot, and manual schema generation for up to 500 products and pages. Manual generation has a six-hour cooldown.
2. Confirm what AgentReady read
AgentReady reads shop identity, catalog, offers, and policy pages Shopify exposes. Treat that read as provisional. Confirm organization/contact, shipping, return/refund, privacy links, locations/markets when relevant, and product/offer truth before treating generated markup as ready. 3. Turn on the theme app extension
This is the step that can put AgentReady output on your storefront. Until the embed is on, generated JSON-LD does not reach live pages no matter how much you configure.
- In your Shopify admin, open Online Store, Themes, Customize.
- Open App embeds in the left panel.
- Toggle AgentReady on, then Save.
The embed is meant to ship no shopper-facing JavaScript bundle. Structured data is for machines. Nothing about your design should change when it is working as intended.
4. Generate, then observe (do not skip)
From the AgentReady dashboard, run a sync/generate so structured data is prepared from confirmed inputs. Free generation is manual and rate-limited; paid plans add automation. Then observe a public product URL (view source or fetch) and look for the JSON-LD. Configured and generated are not the same as storefront-observed. Validate separately when you need a receipt.
Paid plans can regenerate affected payloads after catalog or policy edits. Regeneration is not proof the public page is correct until you observe it again.
5. Read your score
The dashboard shows an A to F readiness score with a prioritized checklist of what to fix. Each item names the gap and the exact fix. Work down the list from the top, where the highest-weighted items sit. The readiness score doc explains what each grade means.
6. Check the discovery files
AgentReady can prepare a per-store llms.txt / agents.md style index and audits robots.txt so shopping-relevant crawlers are not blocked by accident. See agents.md and llms.txt. These files are hygiene, not a ranking switch.
