AgentReady
Schema for AI · Discovery files

Maintained discovery infrastructure, not a magic filename

AgentReady keeps an llms.txt built from your real catalog, policies, and FAQs, and logs which agents fetch it on your store. Check your storefront first to see what is already published. Having the file is useful infrastructure, not a requirement we invent.

Honest about evidence: we show fetch activity on your store. We do not claim every assistant requires llms.txt to recommend you.

What the free checker reports for discovery files

The checker shows whether llms.txt and related surfaces are present on your domain and what they contain. The mockup above is the maintained store-knowledge layer AgentReady keeps current after you install.

Discovery files are infrastructure you keep current

The filename alone does not move recommendations. A maintained, store-specific summary at a standard location gives assistants something accurate to read, and AgentReady keeps that file from going stale.

The gap

Shopify's default file covers plumbing. It does not carry your store knowledge.

llms.txt is a plain-text summary at a known URL that helps AI systems learn what a site is and where the substance lives. Shopify serves a platform-generic file focused on checkout and policy links. It does not include your products, FAQ answers, brand story, or locations. That store-knowledge layer is what AgentReady maintains.

  • Platform file: transaction plumbing and policy links
  • Missing: catalog, FAQs, locations, brand substance
  • A stale custom file is worse than none if assistants quote it

What AgentReady maintains

A store-knowledge file rebuilt as your catalog and policies change

Your brand and contact identity. Collections and products with short descriptions, prices, and subscribe-and-save offers where they exist. Shipping and returns answers inline. Store locations with hours. FAQ answers. Links to markdown twins of product pages for agents that want detail. On Shopify, /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt mirror the same substance as agents.md.

  • Built from live Shopify data, not a one-time export
  • Regenerates when catalog and content change
  • Same honesty rule as schema: no invented facts

Consumption, honestly

We log fetches on your store. We do not claim every assistant needs the file.

Adoption of llms.txt is growing across crawlers and agent frameworks, and the file is cheap insurance at a standard location. AgentReady logs which agents fetch yours so you can watch adoption on your own store rather than take a marketing claim on faith. The free checker reports whether a discovery file is present and what it contains; it does not invent a recommendation-visibility guarantee.

  • Fetch logs show which agents hit your file
  • Checker reports presence and substance, not a rank promise
  • Useful infrastructure, not a magic filename

Questions

Do AI assistants actually read llms.txt?
Adoption is growing across AI crawlers and agent frameworks, and the file is cheap insurance: one small text file at a standard location. AgentReady logs which agents fetch yours, so you can watch adoption on your own store rather than take anyone's word for it. We do not claim every store must have one to appear in recommendations.
Doesn't Shopify already provide this?
Shopify serves a platform-generic file focused on transaction plumbing and policy links. It contains nothing specific about your store: no catalog, no answers, no locations. AgentReady's file is the store-knowledge layer on top.
What's a markdown twin?
A plain-markdown copy of each product page at a stable URL, listing the product's details, price, options, and subscription offers without theme markup in the way. Agents that want product detail read it in one request.
Where can I see mine?
Once the embed is on, it serves from your own domain. The dashboard's llms.txt settings page shows the current content, lets you curate sections, and regenerates on demand.
